Proposal in the Champagne region:
Chateau de Sept-Saulx
When Drew first contacted me and shared his plans to propose to his long-time girlfriend Melissa during their trip to Champagne, I knew it would be a special one! He initially found me via my blog post and was eager for my input regarding the best location options for a proposal in the region. We eventually landed on the Chateau de Sept-Saulx, a stunning 1920’s French Chateau in the heart of the Champagne region because Drew was keen for a beautiful, architectural backdrop to frame this special moment, and more importantly he hoped for privacy – something which the private hire of a Chateau can provide!
We then concocted a storyline in order to get Melissa to the location without raising suspicion: Drew would be “taking her out to dinner” (spoiler: this Chateau is NOT actually a restaurant) and arranged for a private car to collect them from their hotel (as Uber can be a little temperamental in this region). Upon arrival at the Chateau (whilst I was hiding behind a tree!) Drew suggested they take a walk in the gardens before dinner. That was when Drew walked Melissa over to our pre-arranged spot (specifically selected so as to perfectly frame and align the couple with the Chateau backdrop), and proceeded to get down on one knee and propose. Thankfully she said yes, and once they were ready and composed, we proceeded to capture some gorgeous engagement photos as the sun set behind us.
All in all, it was a beautiful proposal story, and an absolute pleasure to capture. I can’t wait to be back for more beautiful love stories in 2025!
